Working Holiday Visa (PVT, Programme Vacances-Travail)

The PVT (also called a “working holiday visa”) is based on an agreement signed between France and each partner country: age conditions, the authorised length of stay, quotas of places, and the required supporting documents therefore vary from country to country and change over time. The age bracket is generally around 18 to 30, sometimes extended depending on the destination country — worth checking against the official source before starting any procedure.

Proof of health insurance valid for the entire length of the stay, covering at a minimum illness, hospitalisation, and often repatriation, is among the documents required to obtain most of these visas. The minimum coverage amount required also depends on the host country.
