Who it’s for
Six situations, one demand for clarity.
Employees on assignment
Sent abroad or hired locally, your coverage shouldn't depend on a changing employer.
Freelancers & digital nomads
No collective protection: it's on you to secure your health without losing your freedom to move.
Expat families
Every child counts, every local healthcare system is different — coverage has to follow the whole family.
Retirees abroad
Living elsewhere shouldn't mean giving up quality care, or clarity on what's actually covered.
Working holiday & students
A visa that requires insurance, for a duration that never exceeds your actual stay.
Returning to France
Up to three months of waiting period before Social Security kicks back in — the worst-covered period of all.
Understanding the product
What good expat health insurance covers
The exact detail always depends on the contract and plan. Here are the categories any serious offer should cover clearly — what we’ll compare for you.
Everyday medical costs
Consultations, exams, prescribed medication.
Hospitalisation
Stay costs, medical fees, surgical procedures.
Maternity
Pregnancy follow-up and childbirth, depending on the plan.
Medical evacuation
Organisation and cover in case of medical necessity.
Dental and optical
Prevention and routine care, depending on the plan.
Mental health support
Consultations and therapy, depending on the plan.
24/7 assistance
Medical guidance at any hour, wherever you are.
Liability cover
Damage caused to third parties during your stay abroad.

Frequently asked questions
Before you write to us
Is expat health insurance mandatory?
It depends on the country and the visa: the UAE requires it everywhere, Thailand mandates it for certain long-stay visas, other countries don't legally require it but it becomes essential in practice, for lack of local coverage.
What's the difference with CFE alone?
CFE keeps you affiliated with French Social Security and reimburses on French bases, often far below the real cost abroad. Most expats top it up with international health insurance.
What's the difference with travel insurance?
Travel insurance is designed for short stays and only covers emergencies. Expat insurance follows day-to-day life abroad: routine consultations, ongoing care, maternity, over the long term.
What happens if I move back to France?
CFE can be kept free of charge for three months after your return. A waiting period may apply before Social Security resumes, depending on your residency situation — worth checking before you leave, not after.
Is the displayed price final?
No. It's an indicative price calculated from three pieces of information. The firm rate depends on a health questionnaire and is never binding until you've signed it.

Verified and sourced scales
Every figure shown carries its source. A scale under re-verification shows “being verified”, never an outdated figure.
