FrancExpat
CFE health insurance plan for expats already covered locally, which reimburses their care during stays of less than three consecutive months in France.
FrancExpat Santé does not cover care received abroad: it is aimed at a member who already has local coverage in their country of residence (a local policy, the host country’s compulsory scheme) and who wants to be reimbursed when receiving care in France during a short stay. It covers consultations, hospitalization, medication, lab tests, and maternity care, individually or as a family.
This plan differs from MondExpat Santé and JeunExpat Santé, which cover care anywhere in the world (including France) for a member with no other coverage; FrancExpat is designed as an occasional top-up for France, not as a primary health cover abroad.
Example
An employee on a local contract in Singapore, already covered by their employer's health insurance there, can take out FrancExpat Santé to be reimbursed if they see a doctor while on holiday in France.
